This complex strata including faults and duplex are the Misaki Formation
in the Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa Prefecture, central Honshu.
The Misaki Formation (Late Miocene-Early Pliocene) consists of silt deposited on the 2000 to 3000 m deep
ocean floor and tuff provided from a volcanic front. The formation was
deformed by compression due to the northward movement of the Philippine Sea
Plate or accretion to the Northeast Japan Arc.
